CCOPS Hosts Forum with Nonprofit Organizations
|
On November 1st, CCOPS hosted a forum at Clarke High School
with representatives from 26 nonprofit organizations.
Prior to the meeting, CCOPS sent questionnaires to these organizations (and to
others not in attendance). Of the 33 organizations that responded, the largest
issue was the difficulty of raising money.
During discussions at the meeting, all of the organizations agreed that they
wanted to get kids involved. They added, however, that it's very hard to get
kids involved if they don't want to volunteer. As one organization said: "The
kids that are growing up today are the ones that are going to be running this
community when we are older and are no longer in charge. We need to get them
involved because they have the ideas of the future of our community, they are
the future." |
